Water Boatman

The Water Boatman or backswimmer is a water bug that lives in the water. They swim vigorously on their backs using the long, hair-fringed, hind legs as paddles. They can fly and quickly find new ponds, where they are fierce predators capable of giving us a painful nip. There are several common species.
